1.) Airport Check-in Customer Service Officer

Job Locations: Accra, Ghana; Abuja and Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time


    • Greet passengers in a courteous and professional manner.


    • Issue boarding passes and baggage tags accurately and efficiently.


    • Verify passengers’ identification and travel documents.


    • Assist passengers with check-in procedures and provide information on flight details, boarding gates, and departure times.


    • Weigh and tag passengers’ luggage according to airline regulations.


    • Ensure compliance with security protocols and safety regulations during the check-in process.


    • Handle special requests such as seat assignments, upgrades, and wheelchair assistance.


    • Resolve passenger issues or concerns regarding check-in, baggage, or flight information.


    • Collaborate with other airport personnel to ensure smooth passenger flow and efficient operations.


    • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the check-in counters and work area.


    • Adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining a high level of professionalism.



    • BA / B.Sc from any reputable college or equivalent.


    • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.


    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


    • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling boarding passes and luggage tags.


    • Basic computer skills for using check-in systems and software.


    • Knowledge of airline regulations and security procedures preferred but not required.


    • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.


    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.


    • Physical ability to lift and maneuver luggage when necessary.

Objectives of this role

    • Act as the face of Malaika Air and ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers while providing outstanding customer service

    • Address passenger questions and ensure they adhere to all applicable rules during flights


    • Work together with other flight attendants, ground agents, and flight deck crew to expedite boarding and disembarking procedures and adhere to the airline’s schedule


    • Provide support and leadership in problem- solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution


    • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure all required tasks are completed



    • Consistently report for duty on time and promptly answer all calls for reserve staff


    • Demonstrate the correct use of safety and emergency equipment to passengers and ensure that safety requirements are met at all times


    • Strictly adhere to the airline’s standard operating procedures and promptly report any deviations or irregularities


    • Provide appropriate assistance to all passengers – including those with special needs, such as children and persons with reduced mobility


    • Conduct food and drink service in a safe, prompt, and friendly manner

Skills and qualifications

    • Candidates should possess B.Sc / B.A Degrees with 3+ years relevant work experience on a commercial airline


    • You need to be at least 21 years of age at the time of hiring


    • Air Hostess training certification


    • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours


    • Proficiency in language(s) of country of hire


    • Effective verbal communication skills


    • Satisfactory pass on mandatory background check, physical assessment, and drug test


    • Ability to be scheduled away from home base for multiple consecutive days.


Preferred qualifications:

    • Willingness to relocate or commute


    • Experience in aviation, health care, food service, customer service, or hospitality


    • Proficiency in additional language(s)


    • Ability to report at base within the airline’s established time frame.
