Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Scholarship for International Students
This scholarship supports highly motivated international students already enrolled at German universities who demonstrate academic excellence and social engagement.
Benefits:
Financial support: €992/month (plus health insurance).
Additional €160/month for scholarship holders with children.
Non-material support: Access to seminars, workshops, networking, and mentorship.
Eligibility:
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diploma, or State Examination program at a German university.
Very good German skills (DSH-2, TestDaF 4, Telc C1 Hochschule, Goethe C1, or equivalent).
Above-average academic performance.
Social/political engagement (volunteering, activism, etc.).
Alignment with social democratic values.
Best Time to Apply:
Master’s students: Before or at the start of the first semester.
Bachelor’s/Diploma/State Exam: After the 1st semester, up to 3 semesters before graduation.
Medicine: After the 4th semester (or Physikum).
