We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Multimedia Editor

Location: Abuja (Remote)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with reporters and editors to conceptualise multimedia packages (videos, podcasts, infographics).
  • Develop detailed storyboards and production plans that align with editorial goals and brand voice.
  • Shoot, direct, and edit short-form and long-form video segments for news features, explainers, and social media.
  • Add motion graphics, captions, and animations to enhance clarity and visual appeal.
  • Oversee recording sessions, edit interviews, and produce polished podcast episodes.
  • Mix and master audio for consistency, quality, and accessibility (e.g., adding transcripts).
  • Design and implement interactive graphics and data visualisations that illuminate complex topics.
  • Maintain WikkiTimes’ aesthetic and tone through consistent styling and messaging.
  • Work closely with editorial, design, and product teams to align multimedia projects with broader initiatives.
  • Mentor junior producers and freelancers, providing feedback on creative and technical execution.
  • Track engagement metrics (views, watch time, completion rates) and user feedback.
  • Use insights to refine content strategies, formats, and storytelling techniques.
  • Partner with developers to integrate multimedia elements seamlessly into our CMS.
  • Tailor multimedia content for distribution across web, mobile app, and social channels (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok).
  • Optimise formats, lengths, and aspect ratios for each platform’s best practices.
  • Ensure that all multimedia assets meet technical standards (resolution, sound levels) and adhere to editorial guidelines.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  •  3–5 years in multimedia production or editing roles within digital news, media organisations, or creative agencies.
  • Strong narrative sense; able to distill complex information into engaging multimedia narratives.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging formats (AR/VR, live streaming) and platform trends.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition), Final Cut Pro, or similar tools; basic HTML/CSS familiarity is a plus.
